RIP Jay Reatard: Another young rocker bites the dust

Yup, he's dead.

I trully hope that Jay Reatard, born Jimmy Lee Lindsey, Jr., got everything out of his system before that fateful night on January 13, 2009, when he laid down to sleep and never woke up. The music industry lost another talented young musician last month, only this time, it wasn't to a drug overdose or a fatal accident, the cause of Jay Reatard's death is still being investigated by Memphis police.

The 29 year old musician was found by a roomate at 3 in the morning when he called police. Lindsey was a prolific artist who had worked hard since the 1990s, making a name for himself in the punk rock world. He had complained of flu-like symtoms the night he died, but his death is still being investigated as a homicide.

This is just sad.
